Originally from Bangladesh, a place deeply ingrained with familiarity and belonging, I moved to the United States as a child. Leaving behind family, friends, and all that was familiar was challenging, especially since my first school was in a predominantly white town where fitting in was tough. However, inspired by my father's resilience, I chose not to see myself as a victim. Instead, I actively sought to make a difference by starting clubs to combat injustice and interning at a non-profit organization to serve my community. These experiences have profoundly shaped my determination to advocate for equality and justice in every facet of life.
